The Rašica knitwear factory developed out of the lace industry established in 1947 in Tacno near Ljubljana. It was no coincidence: as far as income was concerned, lace-making was the most significant cottage industry in the region known today as Slovenia, not only in the 19th century, but also to a certain extent in the 20th century. The factory expanded its activities to include knitwear two years after it was founded.

The realisation of a modern market-oriented strategy in Rašica’s watershed business year of 2000 should bring the company a new image make-over and media presence. The approach was taken in order to stimulate the concept of an attractive and high quality trademark.
